Serial Com Port Reset

Reboot the GRIDlink and allow a full 2 minutes before attempting this procedure.

If a Trip-Wire device is installed then it must be removed. Have a new replacement as the removal requires destroying the Trip-Wire.

Connect the RJ45 from the serial cable assembly into the RS232 comm port and the other end into your PC.

From the Toolkit main menu select Device/Select

Select the appropriate com port for your PC. ie COM3

Select Operations / Advanced Operations / Reset System Com Port

 

This operation will require reset of the station. Continue?  Yes

 

Select the same com Port used by the PC

 

Cycle power when prompted.

 

The com port should reset and allow normal operation.

If the com port still doesn’t reset after repeated attempts then the unit should be returned to the manufacturer and reflashed.
