Loading CA Certs and VTN CA Certs – Toolkit
To load an SSL Cert into the GRIDlink do the following:
Important Files
Receive securely from Support:
CA-certificates.crt
vtn-ca-certificates.crt
VEN 5800.8004.0 113_______.6PJ
IC systems regfile_5.6rg
Prerequisites
Sixnet Toolkit installed on your PC. (If not – see this procedure)
The GRIDlink IPm device connected via Ethernet connection.
The Important Files ready in an accessible folder.
Connect to the GRIDlink IPm
Open Sixnet Toolkit.
Go to File → Open.
Select the GRIDlink project file provided with the Important Files.
Click Connect.
Verify the connection:
Operations > Test I/O device status change to “ONLINE“.
If you are using Ethernet, confirm the IP address is correct.
For serial connections, ensure the correct COM port is selected.
✅ Once connected, you can proceed to load the certificates.
Open File Operations
From the Main dashboard
Select Device > Operations > File Operations…
✅ Once you can access File Operations, you’re ready to upload the certificates.
Load the CA and VTN CA Certificates
Navigate to /etc/ssl/certs
There maybe older versions shown which can be deleted. Be careful not to delete anything else but files ending in .crt.
Select User File from right dropdown
Click: [Load File]
Select from Important Files:
ca-certificates.crt
Confirm the destination directory and file name is correct
Click: [OK]
Repeat for:
vtn-ca-certificates.crt
Reboot GRIDlink
Option 1: Simply cycle power
Option 2: From Toolkit over network
Operations > Advanced Operations > Perform Hard Reset
